Car Rentals Thru Priceline or Hotwire

I am seeing some very attractive car rental prices with Priceline or Hotwire. Has anyone used those services to rent a car. If so, are there hidden costs for insurance or anything else that I should be careful of?

I use hotwire a lot for car rentals, haven%26#39;t used Priceline though.

The price quoted by hotwire is the price you pay, nothing hidden. However, no insurance is included in the price of the rental. Most auto insurance policies cover you when using a rental. If unsure, check with your insurance carrier.

You might also want to check prices via www.southwest.com. Find their car rental specials, they then give a code to use when checking prices, they%26#39;ve been very competitive with hotwire lately.

I%26#39;ve used priceline often %26amp; gotten great rates. No hidden fees. Just read the fine print. When you submit a bid, it doesn%26#39;t include the taxes, etc. But you%26#39;ll know the final price.

As previous poster mentioned, your insurance usually covers you in a rental car, too.

You can also google in car rental coupon codes. Recently I was submitting prices almost daily on priceline, %26amp; they weren%26#39;t accepting my offer. I found a coupon code online that I submitted thru a national car rental chain %26amp; got a lower price than the offer priceline refused! I also had the option of changing my reservation (or canceling).

Just know when you rent thru priceline or hotwire, it is a ';done deal';.

When you do hotwire, they give you the final cost before you purchase so you know up front the exact cost. They only deal with the major car rental companies, I always would get Avis or Budge through them. I just had to book a rental car, Southwest with discount code came in a little cheaper than hotwire did. Plus, when booking via the SWA site, they do ask for credit card number but you aren%26#39;t charged until after you%26#39;ve actually rented the car.
