questions about Columbus, Fort Wayne

I%26#39;ve heard about the great architecture in Columbus, and I may be able to see some of it next month. I%26#39;d appreciate any recommendations for dining and historical sites in the city and surrounding area.

I will also be going through Fort Wayne. Are there any must-sees in the area for history buffs? The transportation museums in DeKalb County look interesting.

Thanks in advance.

You might want to stop by the fort in Fort Wayne, and I%26#39;ve heard very good things about the Lincoln Museum. www.thelincolnmuseum.org

Not far from Columbus is Nashville in Brown County, Indiana. It is very popular in the fall. It%26#39;s a great place to see the changing leaves, as well as see the work of local artists, listen to music, etc.

questions about Columbus, Fort Wayne

Hi madi40,

Columbus and surrounding area:

I lived in Columbus, Indiana, for a few months and found the architecture amazing. I am not an artsy person, but I would definitely recomend this city to anyone in the area

You might want to go on the architecture tour:

Sorry I can%26#39;t recommend any restaurants there.

I agree with the above post, I would also check out Brown County. It is wonderful in the fall with the leaves changing colors. You can also walk around the shops and see the artisans. There are some nice little restaurants here.

You might want to also continue on to Bloomington, Indiana, and check out the IU campus. There always seems to be something going on there. Some ideas would be to take a tour of the campus (see the architecture), go to the campus art museum, go to the archeology building and tour the museum there, they offer various concerts, ect. If you decide to visit here, but not sure what to see, just ask and I will try to help (I graduated from here), or I%26#39;m sure some others on this site could help.

Ft.Wayne, Indiana:

Yes, I agree, I think as a history buff you would like the Lincoln Museum.

Maybe the Historical Society

Don%26#39;t know if you like plants, but maybe the Foellinger-Freimann botanical conservatory?

With your mention of history, you might like something associated with the Amish.
