Polar express train ride

Has anyone done this or have any info. It is based in Connersville and we are coming from the Cincinnati area with our grandaughter. It sounds fun but a bit expensive so we are wondering if it is worth the trip. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Here%26#39;s the information on the Polar Express in Fishers, Indiana. It look like all time are sold out; however.

Polar express train ride

We just returned from our ride on the ';POLAR EXPRESS';. My opinion is that you avoid ths trip at all cost!!!. It is expensive %26amp; far from worth it. It is aboard a very old train that is smelly %26amp; cold with squekey doors %26amp; peeling pain %26amp; NO BATHROOMt. The ';NORTH POLE'; was a cardboard house %26amp; blowup santa. We did not get off the train. Santa did come on board but that was the only excitement I noticed. My kids are 9 %26amp; 10 so they were not impressed. We counld not wait for this cold ride to end!!! i HOPE THIS GETS TO YOU ON TIME TO HELP YOU SAVE YOUR MONEY %26amp; YOUR TIME WITH YOUR GRANDAUGHTER

Diappointed

I just went to this today and if your kid is 4 or under it might be ok since they don%26#39;t know any better but other than that, you%26#39;ll just be wasting your time and money. You%26#39;re better off buying them anything with the money that you would spend on this trip. The train is old, beat up and kind of dirty with no restrooms. The ride is not at all comfortable and crowded, the cookie and hot chocolate was mediocre at best, the north pole is a decorated shack including the decorated outhouse. The trip back was awfull with the diesel fumes engulfing the passenger cars you can hardly breathe. I truly regret the $100+ I spent for this trip.

I just went yesterday and we had a GREAT time. The traincar we were in, number 8, was in fine shape. No peeling paint, no fumes, nice and warm and decorated nicely for Christmas. Hot chocolate and cookies were passed out by a woman dressed in a chef costume and then she stopped at each seat and danced with all the kids on board. The conductor stopped at each seat and punched letters in our tickets, like in the movie. They played all the songs from the movie over the intercom and then read the story while workers came down the isle and showed you pictures from the book. We arrived at the north pole, which was done very nicely and there was NO BLOW UP SANTA. They had the very tall tree from the center of the north pole town in the movie and a little town lit up in the background and Santa got on the train there and sat with each kid and gave them all silver bells. The train ride was over 2 hours and my kids, ages 3 and 9, had a great time. Ours was the last train ride for the year.

Winkin- I think the one you went on is different than the one she is asking about in Connersville. Looks like you went on the nice Fishers one, which is now sold out.

We did this last year with our kids 5 %26amp; 7 and they loved it. It is really cool and the kids love it. I tried to get tickets late this year and they are sold out, so have fun.

We did it this year (2007) and it was GREAT--my three kids LOVED it. Couldn%26#39;t have been better. The train was NOT old and %26#39;peeling%26#39; that we were on, and it was nicely decorated. The %26#39;chefs%26#39; were GREAT--hot chocolate and cookies were really nice to have. It was chilly, but really a great time. The ';North Pole'; was WONDERFUL!! Looked like a town decorated for Christmas--just like it should be!! I would recommend this to everyone I meet. Santa was SO nice and spent time with the kids, and handed each one a BEAUTIFUL bell!! I don%26#39;t know if you knew this, but all the members from the Connersville train ride are ALL volunteers!! I found that out chatting with one of the chef%26#39;s. I didn%26#39;t know that!! GREAT JOB GUYS!! keep up the good work!!

Maloose,

Just to be sure, did you do the one in Connersville or the one in Fishers?

Thank you for the information!

Lily

Oh, I just saw that you said Connersville. That%26#39;s great! Thank you!

Our family of 7 went on the train ride last night. It took us 2 hours to get there from our residence. None of us enjoyed the ride. The train was not decorated very well and the paint was peeling. Also the heat was broken and it was cold. The train broke down in the middle of nowhere for 1/2 hour and the kids were bored most of the ride. We feel it waste of time and money. I would rather have my fingernails pulled out by the roots then to do it again.!! Also the intercom system was so bad you couldn%26#39;t hear the story or the Christmas carols. Ba humbug. The highlight of the evening was stopping at McDonalds on the way home. Richmond has a very nice one. Merry Christman!!!
