Has anyone been to the mall down there with the nice stores? Are they on central or eastern time? What is the city like? How close is the mall to the nearest expressway? Thanks!
Indianapolis
Hi -
In response to the Indiana time question, we are currently the same time as eastern time.
There is some great shopping in Indianapolis. The following is a recap:
Circle Center Mall - This mall is located downtown and is very, very nice for a downtown mall. It is located not far off I-70 or I-65. This mall has anchor stores such as Nordstroms and Parisians. Downtown Indianapolis is a very nice and safe place. If you go here, be sure to go to the canal walk. I haven%26#39;t been myself, but all of the people I know say it%26#39;s great.
Fashion Mall - This mall is right off I-465 and Keystone Avenue on the northside of Indianapolis. It is more of an upscale mall with anchor stores such as Parisians and Saks. This is also a very nice area.
Castleton Mall - This mall is located off I-465 and Allisonville Road on the northeast side of Indianapolis. It is a few miles down the road from the Fashion Mall, so you could go to both malls in the same day. It has anchor stores such as J.C. Penney%26#39;s, Sears, L. S. Ayres, and Lazarus.
Greenwood Mall - This mall is located in Greenwood, Indiana off I-65 on the southside of Indianapolis. It has anchors stores such as Sears, J.C. Penney%26#39;s, and Lazarus.
If it were me coming to Indianapolis to shop for the day, I would probably go to the Fashion Mall and the Castleton Mall. It will give you a great variety with all kinds of shopping in between such as Kohl%26#39;s and other stores.
As far as Indianapolis, I have lived here for about five years and I love it. It is not so big that you are overwhelmed, but has plenty to offer. As far as safety, like any city, there are areas that are nicer and safer than others. However, I have never felt unsafe going anywhere in Indianapolis. For an overnight stay, I would suggest downtown, Castleton, Carmel, or Greenwood.
Hope this helps and happy shopping.
IndianapolisActually we are now on Eastern Standard Time - same as Central time. Local TV stations delay the network shows to the normal Eastern time.
As far as malls, check out

Fashion Mall is the high end mall. On the North Side at Keystone and 465.

We normally agree on just about everything (except maybe the critical issue involving the ';Sedan on Demand'; taxi service in Carmel, which I understand to be terrible ...), but our Eastern Standard Time designation makes us one hour ahead of Central Standard Time, and the same as the folks on the east coast.
If that%26#39;s NOT correct, I%26#39;m going to be very early for my 2p PST conference call this afternoon.
Toomany times!! I felllike Bluto on Animal House. Oh well, just as long as I know when the Colts game starts
I think the Fashion Mall at Keystone at the Crossing is the one you were referring to. It has excellent, upscale shopping. There used to be a Parisian there, but it closed. Nordstrom is moving into the Parisian space, but it isn%26#39;t open yet. There%26#39;s also a Saks Fifth Avenue, one of the larger Pottery Barn stores, Crate and Barrel, Wiliams Sonoma, Williams Sonoma Home Store, Restoration Hardware, J Jill, Cole Haan, Tommy Bahama and loads more stores. There are also hotels in the complex as well as a good choice of restaurants.
