Which is closer to Butler? Keystone or downtown?

Hi, deciding where to stay, either downtown Indy (more $$) or Keystone Crossing, which I heard is also a great place to stay. Which is closer to Butler, I am going to the basketball game. thanks!

Which is closer to Butler? Keystone or downtown?

Downtown is closer but not by much. At most it%26#39;s 15-20 min from Keystone at the Crossing.

Which is closer to Butler? Keystone or downtown?

downtown is closer. All the extra perks restaurants, bars, and public transportation. If you need to get a ride to the event. You could catch a bus. I%26#39;m not sure but from downtown all buses head outwards. The keystone at the crossing has restaurants and a mall also. Not the same as downtown in my opinion. Downtown is more walkable distances for entertainment. Where keystone at the crossing is less walkable, not that you can not i believe there is a walkway connecting the Sheraton to the fashion mall. check out Indy.org for better information about downtown and the restaurants and hotels. Hope this helps.

I%26#39;ll disagree, but say the difference in time is trivial. I%26#39;ll challenge any of the others to a race, with me starting at the Sheraton at Keystone at the Crossing and them starting at the Circle Center Mall Parking Garage Exit - and I%26#39;ll beat them more times than not.

The message to you is, it doesn%26#39;t really matter - I think we all agree it%26#39;s very close - where do you WANT to stay?

Fellow TA colleagues - feel free to send me a TA message if you want to arrange a contest/test.

I would stay downtown mainly because of all the different things to do (restaurants/nightclubs/museums/etc)

It would probably be an easier drive from there and would probably be easier to get public transportation. DAVE drives too fast

GO DAWGS

By the way, Julie.........if you haven%26#39;t been to a Butler home game you%26#39;re in for a treat. Hinkle Fieldhouse IS STILL one of the great places to see a game. When it was originally built it was considered The Taj Mahal of Basketball. I can prety much guarantee that the others will agree with that

No need for me to send a PM to you Dave, I totally agree with you on this one!

Thanks guys, that is my answer... its close. good enough! This will be my first game at Hinkel, I can%26#39;t wait, but unfortunately, I%26#39;ll be rooting for Drake... ;)

(sorry, my husband is a drake alum, but thanks for the help!!)

That%26#39;s o.k. that you%26#39;ll be rooting for Drake (I%26#39;ll be there, countering your enthusiasm). We are always very kind to the losing teams who visit us at Hinkle - they are ALL losing teams - we don%26#39;t lose at Hinkle, and I%26#39;m guessing we won%26#39;t lose to Drake ...

But (sincerely) GOOD LUCK! I hope you guys have a great time in Indy and at the game.

Julie,

Downtown is slightly closer than Keystone Crossing. Be sure to take Illinois Street north when you head to Butler. If you can set your speed about 25-mph and get through a couple of lights you can often cruise up Illinois with only a few stops.

Hinkle Fieldhouse is located at the corner of 49th %26amp; Boulevard Place. Fieldhouse parking unfortunately is all reserved unless you have a handicap tag/sticker. They do open the lot 10-minutes prior to tipoff if there are any slots left...but I would doubt there will be on Saturday.

My suggestion is to come north on Illinois to 46th %26amp; then turn left. 46th will run straight into the Butler campus. There are a couple of lots (one at Clowes Hall %26amp; the other behind the Library ) where you can park or any street parking otherwise. Better be there early or you%26#39;ll have to walk more than 3 blocks to the game. I hope you already have your tickets because they are going fast according to the Butler message board.

One thing that I can guarantee you is the Bulldogs will win on Saturday. I%26#39;d bet the farm on that!

Julie,

If you do stay downtown, I hope that you are here long enough to visit the Hall of Champions at the NCAA facility. A ';must see'; for basketball fans.
