We will be in town for a weekend in June %26#39;08. We are looking to take in a live race at the Brickyard. We will be too late for the Indy500, and too early for the Allstate 400. Does the racetrack hold other live races (amateur or pro-am) on either a Saturday, Sunday, or Monday? Thanks in advance.
Live Racing Schedule at Brickyard?New on the Speedway%26#39;s plate this year will be motorcycle racing, but that will be in September. There is a possibility that there might be an Indy car testing, but that%26#39;s pretty unlikely since June starts the meat of their season. Sometimes there is the Richard Petty Driving Experience or The Indy car Experience going on. Those are companies that give you a chance to either ride in or drive a NASCAR or Indy car (go to Richard Petty Driving Experience or Sinden Racing to find schedules) The Speedway is a great place to visit even if there is no race. You will be amazed of the massiveness of the place. It%26#39;s free to drive into the track under the 16th St tunnel, entrants to The Museum is only $3.00, and for an additional $2.00 you can take a bus around the oval. Be sure to check out the photo shop on the third floor of the musem (free). If you have a particular driver you%26#39;re interested in they%26#39;ll pull the file. Most pics can be purchased and shipped to you for $10.00. For any racing in the area, you might try checking out O%26#39;Rielly Raceway Park website. It%26#39;s about 6-7 miles west of The Speedway in Clermont, IN. For eats with a racing theme try Union Jacks in Speedway. Known for their pizza they also have good steaks and it is home of one of the world%26#39;s largest privately owned race helmet collection. Go to www.ronburtonhelmets.com to see a few of them
