The Hungry Hound from channel 7 news just did a story on Northwest Indiana restaurants. He listed Miller Bakery Cafe in Miller Beach, Giovanni%26#39;s in Munster, Cafe Elise in Munster, El Taco Real in Hammond, Cavalier Inn in Hammond and many more. He was excited about the food available and that it is only 20 minutes from the loop (Chicago) He also couldn%26#39;t believe how NICE the area was, he had only seen it from the expressways.

I reside in Munster, IN and Cafe Elise is an excellent place. Miller Bakery in Miller Beach is great as well. El Taco Real is O.K. nothing fancy and Giovanni%26#39;s is just O.K. as well. With all the road construction on the expressways, better make that 20 minutes an hour and 20 minutes! But Miller and Cafe Elise are well worth the trip!

For great unbiased feedback check out www.LTHforum.com. It is a Chicago food directory with great suggestions, directions and feedback. There is a Northwest Indiana Index that has a lot of great ideas and really interesting places to eat off the beaten path. The forum is apparently the gospel for foodies.
Cafe Elise - If I%26#39;m going to pay Chicago prices, I want excellent Chicago food. Which is not what you will find at Cafe Elise. I%26#39;ll gladly drive the 20 min on the now completed Interstate to eat at the best Chicago has to offer.
As for El Taco Real, it%26#39;s worth the trip. Pork anything is great! Very good Mexican food with very reasonable prices.
If Cafe Elise would pull the prices from El Taco Real%26#39;s menu, I might go back again, instead of Applebee%26#39;s across the street.
