Colts vs. Ravens 10/12...where to stay? tailgate?

Hey all! We are coming into Indy for our 1st Colts experience...hoping to tailgate and stay somewhere near the stadium. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

There’s a lot of good information on a previous post “Colts visit…” last updated on July 2. I think it all still holds true on where to stay. Downtown is still the best bet. There’s still some availability at the Conrad for $250/nt, which is probably our most upscale hotel. If you can wait until a few days before traveling, try Priceline for the other downtown hotels. Or check the small inns on the Old Northside.

As far as tailgating, I’m sure other posters can help more with that. I know they tailgate around Pennsylvania and South Street, which is about 2 -3 blocks east of the stadium. I used to know more when the Colts were at the dome. Not sure if they tailgate around PanAm Plaza anymore.

There’s lots of Colts fans in Nebraska (my sister being one!) Have fun in Indy!

At first when I saw NE I thought it was New England, as in the dreaded Patriots, but nebraska is fine. Downtown would be the most fun to stay but might be pretty hard to find a room. On the westside at I 465 and Rockville Rd are three or four pretty nice and reasonable places.(I%26#39;ll have to get back on the names.) It%26#39;s an easy 10 minute drive to downtown. getting into a parking lot to tailgate might be pretty hard. Most of the lots are reserved. I might have a spot for you though that%26#39;s a block from the new Lucas Oil Stadium. Again will get back. How did you manage to get ahold of Colts tix? Hope the new coach out there gets things turned around, back to Osbourne-like teams

There are loads of hotels downtown. Most upmarket is the Conrad. There is also a Hyatt, Westin and Marriott DT. For ones more reasonably priced, there%26#39;s a very good Hampton Inn Dt as well as Hilton Garden Inn and Courtyard by Marriott to name a few.

LOL Indyob...i%26#39;ll take nebraska over new england any day! to be honest, i%26#39;m not sure how my hubbie scored the tix ~ i was to excited to ask! thanks for the hotel advise, if you think of specific names i am all ears...if not no biggie. we are REALLY interested in the tailgate location advise, though. neither of us has ever been to indy so we r clueless!

There are lots of hotels in downtown Indy. The Conrad is great, but I also like the Westin. If you decide to stay at a smaller inn, I would use The Villa. It has about 6 rooms, a spa, and a restaurant. When I toured the rooms a few years ago, I wondered why people always stay at the big chains when this great place is available. As for tailgating, try the parking lot directly north of the State Capitol Building. Access is from Capitol Avenue, which is a one way street going south. We tailgate there and really like it. I think it is $20 for parking. Hope you have fun!
