Well my Dad is flying up from Atlanta to watch the MotoGP with me and some male friends. I am from Columbus, and have been to Indy before but dont know the ins and outs. So what I am looking for:
1. Sports Bar: Watch any college/NFL games on Sat/Sun
2. Cool bar to hang out at, not so much the college crowd, maybe a bit more 30-40 crowd?
Any advice is great.
Thanks
Guys weekend for MotoGP...what else to do?
Will you be staying downtown? Most of the bars downtown will fit the bill. I suggest The Slippery Noodle located at South street %26amp; Meridian for great blues, great drinks, and good food. Another area for lots of bars in a close area would be Broad Ripple which is 20 minutes north of downtown. All the bars will have a TV with the games on. Enjoy!!

Check out the Rathskeller on Mass. Ave if you are downtown. It%26#39;s a beautiful historic building %26amp; the beer garden (sorry don%26#39;t know the German spelling) should still be open. I agree that the Slippery Noodle is great too %26amp; also in an historic building. There%26#39;s lots of sports bar type places near Circle Center Mall.
Have fun. It should be a great event %26amp; exciting weekend.
Where about will you be staying?
Staying on the southside of Indy...but figure we can go anywhere after the race on the way back to the hotel.
Basically wanna make sure we got a good place to catch the USC game, and other college games, get some grub and relax before another big day on Sunday.
Thanks
I your staying around Southport/Greenwood/Beech grove area there are lots of places. At the I 65 and Southport exit there is a bar (Bubbazz?) on the east side of the interstate on the northside of Southport Rd. At the County Line Rd. exit there is Your Call Sports bar (C Line Rd and Emerson in te same strip as Kroger) Lots of big screens there. At Greenwood exit there is Wilsons or The Oaken Barrel. Just west of the interstate (Look for the airplane stuck in the roof). In Beech Grove check out O%26#39;Gara%26#39;s on Main Street in The Grove. Johnny O (the owner) is race car driver Sarah Fisher%26#39;s fatherin law. Near The Speedway would be McGilvery%26#39;s at 30th and High School Road.
Just a word of advice. Since you will be in Indiana %26amp; NOtre Dame is in INdiana. Don%26#39;t make too much noise for USC. There are lots of Notre Dame faithful having some rough years lately. NOt to mention USC has always been a HUGE rivalry. But have fun. Fair Warning.
My mistake! I think you are going to want to cheer for OSU. I can not even spell it. Sorry. NO hard feelings.
Don%26#39;t forget that there%26#39;s a dirt track National at the fair grounds Sat. evening. Going to watch Kenny Coolbeth from CT, National #1 show those mid west guys the way around the track.
well no worries, I wont be cheering for OSU, or USC.
I gotta get some more info on that dirt track event. Do you know when that starts?
Well the Oaken Barrel sounds like the place to be after checking some things out. I just cant seem to find out the TV situation. I would really like to know if getting a view of TV will be tough. Sounds like they are always busy, so I just dont wanna drive there and find out we are sitting in the table with no TV view.
Thanks
