My daughter%26#39;s two best friends are graduating highschool. One is headed to FIT in NYC and the other to Purdue in Indiana. For the NYC friend we are putting together a NYC survival bag with subway pass, Time Out NYC mag., espresso gift cert., etc. Would like to do something similar for the friend who is headed to Purdue but don%26#39;t know what is around there. What are some cool things/places to eat that students there like to go to? I can try to contact them and get some gift cards.
Thanks!

What a great gift idea!

A lot of my friends went to Purdue, and I know that Indianapolis and Chicago were also fun weekend getaways for them.

How about the Triple X diner? (Despite its name, I assure you it%26#39;s NOT an adult entertainment establishment). It is right there across the street from campus, and has been featured on the Food Network%26#39;s Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. I%26#39;ve never been there, but I know some former Purdue students who have told me it has good food!

Thanks guys. These are great suggestions. I had just about given up that anyone would post!!
Another thought is a gift card to the University Book Store or Follett%26#39;s. Not only do they have school supplies, but they have a big selection of Purdue apparel, something every new student needs. http://www.purdueu.com/ or www.bkstr.com/Home/10001-10258-1?demoKey=d.
When I was in school, it was common for people to order a couple of pizzas from Papa Johns. It was decent %26amp; cheap and close to campus. There%26#39;s also some chains like Starbucks, Chipotle, Taco Bell, Panera Bread, Einstein%26#39;s Bagels.
Finally, Snowbear Frozen Custard is a local place that is close to campus and very yummy: http://www.snowbearfc.com/
