Beyond Holiday World... :)

Hello~

We have been to Holiday World several times over the past few years. We always only see a little bit of the area between Dale (where we%26#39;ve stayed for the last few yrs) and Santa Claus.

We are ready to branch out!! Anyone have any ideas of some fun things to do in the area or some ';can%26#39;t miss'; sites? We are wanting to spend one day at Holiday World and spend about 2-3 days seeing the rest of the area. We%26#39;re not really into the whole arcade/go-carts scene, we can get that here at home.

Where do you usually stay? What else do you make time for?

Thanks for all of your ideas!

Beyond Holiday World... :)

Southern Indiana has many activities to offer. The Candy Castle in Santa Claus is one of these. The history behind it is interesting. St. Meinrad has the archabbey and the absolutely breath-taking grounds. Ferdinand has the Sisters of St. Benedict Monastery which also has breath-taking architecture. Both places offer tours for free. They also have gift shops with unique items. French Lick and West Baden both offer renovated historic hotels. The grounds and hotels are very pretty. The Patoka Lake area has many things to offer, from just being with nature to boating to fishing. There are many wineries in the area. Huntingburg has a great downtown with antique stores. A great place to eat is Fat N Sassy%26#39;s. I hope I have helped you in some way. I am from the area and if you need any assistance please ask.
