Downtown Hyatt booked...need alternative hotel, Help!

Hello Travel Guru%26#39;s

I will be attending a conference held at the Hyatt in downtown (South Capitol Ave) but all rooms have been booked. Can anyone suggest a nearby alternative hotel that I can walk to the Hyatt. Looking for at least a 3-4 star accommodation and the conf will be in mid May.

Thanks for you help- Meo

Good luck. Along with the festivities surrounding the Indy 500, there are a number of big conventions in town during the month of May.

The hotels that are 3 to 4 star types that are also in easy walking distance to the Hyatt are:

The Conrad - expensive, and the best hotel in the city; virtually next door.

The Westin - a convention hotel, and a good one at that

The Omni - a bit dated, but close and very good service

The Cantebury - formerly the nicest hotel in the city, a bit dated now - although in my opinion, charmingly so.

There is a Hilton Garden Inn, a Radisson, Marriott and if money isn%26#39;t an issue, there is the Conrad which is also in downtown Indianapolis.

The Hampton Inn downtown is nice

Since we live here we don%26#39;t stay in the hotels much. But I agree with all the previous hotels mentioned. I have read good reviews on the Homewood Suites, Omni, Marriot, Conrad, %26amp; Hampton Inn, %26amp; Hilton Garden Inn. Good Luck.

Thank very much for your responses, I did run into problems with booking the hotels mentioned, but I have reservations at the Sheraton and the Crowne Plaza, which one would be the best proximity wise to the Hyatt Regency? Thanks again for your help.

The Crowne Plaza is just two blocks south of the Hyatt (and adjacent to the Circle Center Mall and on the south edge of the Convention Center).

I don%26#39;t know how it%26#39;s been maintained, but fifteen years ago it a preferred place to stay due to it%26#39;s attachment to the then thriving Union Station. It also used to have converted rail cars as unique room options on the main floor.

Enjoy your stay.
