Thinging of checking out this area one night end of march. Should we stay at the French Lick Resort or West Baden Springs. How far apart are the two? Is the casino connected to the resort? Which one has the nicest room? What are the best dining options? Thanks.
French Lick or West Baden
I haven%26#39;t stayed there yet so I can%26#39;t help with this. If you haven%26#39;t checked this yet, you might want to look at their website and check for reviews here on TA.

French Lick or West Baden
Here%26#39;s a quote from the most recent French Lick review:
';If you want to gamble at French Lick, take my advice and book a room at West Baden Springs. That property is ten times nicer than French Lick, with a shuttle that runs 24/7 between the two. West Baden%26#39;s spa and pool area are excellent in comparison, and the dome center area is a fantastic place to kill several hours or even a day (depending on your leisure habits).';
We went for a tour of the two hotels recently and the casino is attached to the French Lick Springs hotel. They spent an incredible amount of money renovating the hotel and you can tell. Shopping is great. Food is great. They even have a Harley Davidson Shop in it. Think Golden Nugget.
The West Baden Hotel which is a quick five minute drive away is INCREDIBLE. It%26#39;s more of an upscale joint - think Four Seasons. No matter which you stay, you will be amazed that Crawford County Indiana has these amazing hotels.
Thank you Maudlinberry! I need to plan a trip there soon!
French Lick and West Baden are in Orange County, not Crawford County. The two counties border one another.
You are absolutely right about Orange County! Sorry for the confusion - hey, I%26#39;m a Kentuckian...LOL.
Still both hotels are amazing sites to see.
West Baden Springs, room with balcony over the atrium, wins hands down!! The place is first class. The linens, furnishings,etc. are all top notch. There is a free shuttle (not exactly free, you pay a resort fee that covers this) that runs to the casino a mile away. The Steakhouse ( I think it is called 1872 Steakhouse) at French Lick Hotel is better than Sinclairs at West Baden. Both are pricey.
French Lick and West Baden are both nice places to stay. The steakhouse is great. If you want to save money on food stop in at Paoli Pizzaria where they have a full bufett, Not just pizza. They have a great meatlovers pizza. Top 5 in 6 states. Everything at the casino is over priced as food goes. Good luck
