I understand that there is not much near the IMA, but I will be making several trips there and wondered what hotels are convenient to the museum that are around $100 a night or less. Near restaurants is a plus.

Downtown or I-465 and 38th Street would be the best places to stay. I%26#39;ve no idea of price though. There is a Hampton Inn downtown and there are a lot of chains in the vicinity of I-465 and 38th street plus restaurants near them along 38th St.

The area around the IMA is not very good nor is the area around I-465 and 38th. For restaurants and convienence downtown is the best option. The buses might run to the IMA. Or the Airport is another option for reasonable rates but lacks the restaurants. Are you going to rent a car or public transportation. Check out Indy.org for more information. Hope this helps.
Really there aren%26#39;t any good hotels extremely close to the IMA. I highly recommend looking into one of the small inns in the Old Northside, such as The Villa Inn, Stone Soup, or Looking Glass. Lockerbie also has a nice B%26amp;B, The Nestle Inn. They are also a 5-10 minute WALK to nice restaurants on Mass Ave. (Talk to the front desk at any of the above Inns and they can make reservations for you at a great restaurant.)
All of the above are within 5-10 miles of the IMA, about 10 minute drive, and vary in price range. Even if you find a room slightly higher than $100, remember that all but the Villa include a fabulous breakfast. The Villa Inn also has a nice spa that you can make an appointment at whether you stay there or not.
Enjoy the IMA. It%26#39;s beautiful!
Hi, I%26#39;m Robert with the Candlewood Suites City Centre. The IMA is in area by itself. There is a collection hotels near Michigan and I-465 (Drury Inn, Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn). If you prefer to be closer to downtown, our Candlewood Suites City Centre is located at 10th Street and White River Parkway. You would be 5 minutes from the IMA and 5 minutes from downtown. It%26#39;s a good half way point. Plus the Candlewood Suites City Centre offers the largest standard size guest rooms in Indy.
There is a Jameson Inn (formerly Signature Inn)and a Ramada Residence Innat 465 and 38th St. It is about a 3 mile MAX drive straight east. They both are clean. The area can be pretty conjested bust not so bad before/after rush hour. Plenty of places to eat round there, includng Rick%26#39;s Boatyard cafe at 38th and Dandy Trail. While visiting IMA you might check out Crown Hill Cemetary which is directly east across from there. You can drive up to the ';Crown'; and have the best view of the city (highest natural point in Indy)or you can arrange to have a tour of the cemetary (www.crownhill.org)Also close to 465 and 38th is Eagle creek park
