Indy 4th of July 2008

Thinking about visiting Indy over the 4th for a few days. Are the fireworks set off after the baseball game, over the stadium? Never been to Indy for the 4th, but thinking it might be a great time!!!

Any tips and info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

YES...there are fireworks after the game. The fireworks are shot off from atop the Union Planters Bank Building (I think it%26#39;s still called that. It%26#39;s a 35 story building so you can%26#39;t miss it. GET TICKETS to the game EARLY. It is usually a sell out. Victory Field is a great place and has been voted the best ballpark in the minors for several years. There isn%26#39;t a bad seat in the house. I prefer the 3rd base side though mainly because the sun will be at your back after about the 3rd inning. There is a section in the outfield which are lawn seats that you can bring in your own cooler (no glass or booze) If your%26#39;re staying downtown,it%26#39;s very walkable. There will be a big crowd for the game AND the fireworks so don%26#39;t plan on being in a hurry afterwards. Traffic will be slow. Hope you have fun, I%26#39;m sure you will, and have a Happy St Patrick%26#39;s Day

IndyBob,

Thanks for the information! We will definately look into a game for the 4th, with fireworks afterwards. We have been to St. Louis in the past, but they have gotten WAY too expensive.

Hope to stay downtown somewhere, so traffic shouldn%26#39;t be a problem. We%26#39;ll just park the car and walk.

Thanks again. Appreciate your response!
