Nashville Lodging?

I%26#39;m really having a dilemma trying to decide where to stay. My Mother wants to visit Nashville in October (weekend... our only option unfortunately). I would really prefer not to stay in a B%26amp;B, and while I would love a cabin, there%26#39;s only two of us and I%26#39;d like to be within walking distance of shops, etc. downtown.

The top five hotels on this site are Salt Creek, Season%26#39;s Lodge, Brown Co. Inn, Comfort Inn and Hotel Nashville. Which one is the best? Of course, for cleanliness but also just overall experience. Any advice would be great.

Also, I made a reservation for our first night at the Story Inn, but after having read the reviews I am skeptical. I think we may go thru there, have dinner and then come on to Nashville. Any thoughts on the Story Inn?

Nashville Lodging?

On an October weekend, the town will be JAM packed with people and loud traffic. Huge numbers of motorcyclists rev their engines in the streets. The charm is gone. The only time to stay in the town is during the week. I suggest renting a cabin away from the throngs. Even then, you%26#39;ll have to drive early to town to find a parking spot, but at least you%26#39;ll have some peace.

Nashville Lodging?

Would Salt Creek Resort be a decent location? It%26#39;s not a cabin but it looks like nice condos?

I have never been there, but saw it last month when we were over by the park. Someone in town told us the food was good there. I realize how negative I may have been in my last post, but I really wanted to be honest with you. My mother used to take me gallery hopping in Nashville over 30 years ago. It was wonderful! I still go up there a few times a year, as I love a couple of shops there including Peggy%26#39;s boutique (nice clothes) and Chateau Thomas Winery. Last year, we were driving back from Indy and decided to stop in. This was the last weekend in September, not even full tourist season yet. The motorcycle noise was deafening. I doubt there%26#39;s much they can do about it, but what a shame! That%26#39;s why we try to stay during the week, always.

Back to Salt Creek, it%26#39;s not in walking distance to the town. It sits back off the road a bit, but I%26#39;m certain it would be quiet. I think you%26#39;d be happier doing that and driving to town. You can always use a pay lot if you can%26#39;t find a space.

We really like the Season%26#39;s Inn. It%26#39;s close to town, but not really walking distance. There%26#39;s a trolley that runs to various spots in Nashville %26amp; it seems to stop at the Seasons every half hour or so on the weekends. It should get you wherever you need to go in town. I recommend getting the rooms on the ';view side'; as they face the hills of Brown County %26amp; not the parking lot. But there is certainly motorcycle noise along the road in front of the inn, though it really only bothers us when we sit outside on the deck. It%26#39;s worth it to us, to see the deer come out of the hills at twilight.

We stayed at the Story Inn %26amp; really liked it, but it is more remote, taking maybe 20-30 minutes to get into town on the winding roads. I think going there for dinner is a good plan, but you must have reservations during the busy season. It%26#39;s pricey, but the food is very good %26amp; the atmosphere is nice.

We stayed at the Hotel Nashville last fall %26amp; would not stay there again.

The facility is really showing it%26#39;s age %26amp; we had some kind of ominous bug bites during our stay. It is walking distance, but the return to the hotel is uphill which could be a problem for elderly or unhealthy people.

Hi, I%26#39;m planning a trip the weekend of Oct 12, 13..............but may be able to get off the 11th ........so from the previous posts...I%26#39;m thinking it would be better if we could get there on Thursday.............

Still not sure about lodging? Especially given the traffic as was posted....

It%26#39;s Mom%26#39;s 70th birthday and I want her to have a blast...so any and all suggestions you could post about lodging, shows, do%26#39;s and don%26#39;ts would be really appreciated~!

Thanks,

Gwen

The ONLY way to experience the ';true'; ';Little Nashville and Brown County Indiana is in a log cabin! We have spent a great deal of time in Nashville over the past years and loved it so much we bought property and built a luxury vacation log cabin just a few miles from town. WE LOVE IT! As we can only get away once a month to enjoy it, we have allowed it to be rented through out the year. It is a luxury Log Cabin with ALL the amenities. 3 bdrn, 2 bath, Massive Stone wood burning fireplace, private hot tub on screened deck surrounded by woods, Log master suite w/ fireplace and 2 person Jacuzzi, pool table and too much more to mention. For more info, photos, rates, Nashville links please visit our website @ www.adventurewoodlogcabin.com. As we are now ';locals'; to Nashville, we would be happy to help anyone with info on the area.

Yes, October is beautiful and more crowded, but compared to Gatlinburg%26#39;s crowded tourist town, it%26#39;s quiet even in the fall. Weekdays are definately the better time to go during fall time especially. It%26#39;s wonderful in a cabin in the wintertime, especially in Dec. when all the shops are decorated for the holidays. Winter is our favorite time in Nashville, Indiana. There is alot do around the area and our Adventurewood Log Cabin website has a ';things to do page'; that links you to many fun activities that may help anyone that is visiting the area. Hope this helps some of you who are looking at visiting beautiful Nashville, Indiana!

Nashville does not really have ';hotels';. Try checking out the Inns and Vacation Cabins and Bed and Breakfast locations. If you are planning to shop there are several downtown within walking distance to shops. Check out the browncountylodging.com website for lists of lodgings in Brown County.
