which airport

We are coming to South Bend for the first time in October for a wedding. Which airport is the closest/easiest to come in to. Also, how far is the airport from the town? Cab, rent a car, any suggestions?

which airport

If you want to come to South Bend by air, then SBN is the airport, just located on the north side of the city limits, about 5-7 miles from downtown. It is serviced by Northwest, Delta, Continental and United. All but some of the Northwest flights I believe use regional jets. Otherwise, booking to Chicago Ohare (ORD) or Midway(MDW)is an option. From either airport you can take a United Limo (Coach USA) shuttle bus which is about a three hour ride from the airport to the South Bend airport, or a stop on the Notre Dame campus. You can also rent a car from any of the three airports. There is also taxi service from the South Bend airport.

I said the SBN airport was on the north side. What I meant to say was ';northwest'; about 5-7 miles from downtown.

Have you thought about using Amtrak train? South Bend has a Amtrak train station.
