Looks like Winona Lake might be an interesting weekend getaway. But can the town accommodate short-term family visits? I couldn%26#39;t seem to find any nightly lodging options in town except a couple B%26amp;B%26#39;s.
Also, I want to be sure the restaurants are not dry(?) Guess I%26#39;m a snob who can%26#39;t conceive of an adult meal without an adult beverage.

Warsaw %26amp; Winona Lake are ';connected';, so any hotels you find for Warsaw, are a 5 min drive to Winona Lake shops. Probably your best choices would be: Hampton Inn (new spring %26#39;08), Ramada Inn (gets high ratings), or Comfort Suites (I%26#39;m not familiar). The restaurant in Winona you%26#39;d probably enjoy is The BoatHouse but I do think the town is ';dry';, altho they had a wine tasting even last weekend.
Have you see this website:http://www.villageatwinona.com/
If you are up to coming this evening, there is a very nice (free) outdoor country concert in downtown Warsaw this evening. Joe Nichols. Let%26#39;s just hope it doesn%26#39;t RAIN, or it will be moved indoors!
Also, some nice Warsaw establishments that are NOT dry, such as Mad Anthony%26#39;s Lake City Tap downtown, %26amp; Bennigan%26#39;s in the Ramada hotel, along with several others.

You don%26#39;t need to worry about restaurants being dry ...
And there are some great ones in the area:
Cerulean - we very much enjoy this terrific, relatively new restaurant in the Winona Shops area - the best in town IMO.
Joseph Decuis - just up the road in Roanoke. The finest restaurant in the state.
Both serve excellent cocktails, and both have good wine lists - particularly Joseph Decuis.
