I%26#39;m attending the race for the first time this year-can someone give me some tips on parking-good place to get in and out and we plan to arrive early to do a little tailgating-our tickets on in the North Vista grandstand-if anyone has a hotel recommendation, that would be helpful as well
Brickyard 400 ParkingTry looking up the Coke Lot on The IMS website. For motels you might try the suburban areas (greenwood, Plainfield, Avon, Brownsburg)
Brickyard 400 ParkingIf you have not already done so, I would strongly recommend booking a hotel room ASAP - the 400 and the 500 both sell out the entire city and surrounding areas.
If you%26#39;re getting there early, the Coke lot is your best bet. I believe you google IMS, you%26#39;ll see the layout of the surrounding areas. As for a hotel, book now, or you%26#39;ll find yourself roomless. Brownsburg would be a good place. A town just west of Speedway right out US74. Holiday Inn Express, Hampton Inn, and a couple more nice hotels. Also plenty of places to eat too.
Plainfield would also be a good spot lots of hotels and restaurants to choose from close to I-70.
The coke lot is great for tailgating, but it is quite a hike to your seats. Try the ';north 40'; lot off of 30th stree just east of Georgetown. It fills up pretty quick though and gates open at 6am. It is actually inside of the race track property just north of turn 4 and the shortshute. All grass parking great for tailgating.
Ohio, I park on 25th st. in someones back yard,($40.00), it%26#39;s any easy in and out. My seats are in the north west vista. This year we are staying at the Wingate, 71st and I 465. It is supposed to be the best motel on the north west side of town, I have stayed at several motels on the north west side and by the airport and some can be horrible.
