Favorite downtown restaurants?

We%26#39;ll be there this weekend for the Big Ten men%26#39;s bball tournament. Staying at the Marriott Downtown. Any suggestions?

Favorite downtown restaurants?

There%26#39;s lots of nice places in the immediate area, but many are chains. For fun I would recommend going over to Mass Ave on the near northeast side of downtown. German food at the Rathskellar (beautiful old building %26amp; good beer selection), great pizza at Basbeaux%26#39;s Pizza, Mediterranean at Aesop%26#39;s Table, %26amp; at the far northeast end of Mass Ave is R Bistro, which features wonderful locally produced food. Also. many other pubs, galleries, %26amp; shops. Have fun.

Favorite downtown restaurants?

check out Indy.com for some help checking out restaurants in the downtown area. Lots to choose from upscale steak house types to chain places to medium priced local places. Since there will be so many people downtown pick the ones you would like to try and make a reservation. Look at TA restaurant list also to guide you. Read some of the reviews. Also lots of bars that will be packed. Enjoy. I have some relatives that live in Dewitt.

I really like Palamino which is downtown, there%26#39;s St Elmo%26#39;s Steak House, very well known place. In the Mass Ave area, love Agio! There%26#39;s also the Oceanaire Seafood Room. If you want any of these, reservations are a must! However, I have had appetizers in the bar of Palamino before, just hard to find a place to sit down at times!

If you like Italian, take a short cab ride to The Milano Inn. I do believe it will be a red week, but, not Indiana. Wisconsin will take MSU in the championship game.

For Italian I would recommend The Milano Inn or Old Spaghetti Factory.

For Mexican Acapulco Joe%26#39;s has the best in my opinion.

For steaks try Ruth%26#39;s Chris Steakhouse or St. Elmo%26#39;s.

A couple more are the Rock Bottom Brewery %26amp; Shapiro%26#39;s Deli/Cafateria where the portions are huge.

aaaaaaahhhhhhhhh.............Shapiro%26#39;s. All the old time sports announcers/reporters will hit that deli. Does anyone know the price of their famous corned beef on rye?

Thanks for all the great ideas everyone. We%26#39;re looking forward to a fun weekend. Go Green!!

I saw something in the newspaper this morning that said The Slippery Noodle is the official restaurant of Michigan State fans this weekend, so you might be interested in eating there (each team has a designated restaurant for its fans).

A couple of other places:

MacNivens on Mass Ave. opposite Bazbeaux (NE part of downtown) has a great selection of beers and scotches, as well as Scottish food.

For Italian, try Agio on E. New York St. and Iaria%26#39;s on S. College (need a cab, same neighborhood as Milano Inn).

Greek Islands is on S. Meridian just south of Shapiro%26#39;s - Greek food, obviously.

St. Elmo%26#39;s for terrific steaks and shrimp cocktail if you%26#39;re blowing a lot of money, but worth it.

Barcelona on N. Delaware has terrific tapas.

Indplstraveler, Did you mean Amici%26#39;s on New York?
