Holiday World, Southern Indiana late August.

Hi,

Looking for some advice... we have 2 kids under 10 and are thinking of visiting Holiday World and Splashin Safari mid to late August. Just wondering if this is a good time (crowded?). Probably on a Thursday thru Saturday.

Also, has anyone ever stayed in the cabins at Lincoln State Park nearby? Or Abe Martin Lodge?

Any advice would be appreciated!

holiday world will not be as crowded on thursday.

the weekends are to be avoided,,,at least for me.

very nice and clean,,,good fun for all.

free soft drinks for kids.

lincoln sp cabins are ok. last time i stayed you had to provide your linens. pretty barebones setup,,,but nice and quiet,,,,nice hiking and they have a beach for swimming.

abe martin lodge is in brown county SP. close to a 2 hour drive from HW. brown county indiana%26#39;s most visited park,,,nice.

you may want to try Spring Mill SP,,,it is closer and also very nice.

Not sure when you are planning to attend in late August but make sure you check their schedule as they close during the week around the 3rd or 4th week of August due to most of their workers have went back to school (they employ mostly school age kids). It will be crowded anytime after the 4th of July. The cabins at Lincoln are nice but they book up fast. Abe Martin Lodge is about 2+ hours away--it is nice. It has a new indoor water park, I believe. However, there is NOTHING else for kids to do in Brown County.
