I checked out the forum topic about Indy with a 5 year old... and still have some questions.
My hubby and I will be taking our 2 year old to the Children%26#39;s Museum the second weekend of April. She loves Curious George (monkey George, as she calls him)... and they have an exhibit open... I digress...
Here%26#39;s what I would like to know: I intend to find a hotel near downtown Indy, but I%26#39;m not bent on that - just want one with an indoor pool and free continental breakfast. Any thoughts on that? Cheaper is better as far as that is concerned.
and secondly, probably more importantly: Are there any must-not-miss restaurants in Indy that are one of a kind, or completely yummy? They must, of course be family-friendly.
Many thanks!
Tina
Indy in April with a Toddler!
check out the hilton or hampton they should be reasonable and get good reviews. I suggest the old spaghetti factory on south meridian for a good family friendly restaurant. We also like HOulihan%26#39;s for good eats. I%26#39;m not sure about indoor pool. Check out indy.org and click on hotels downtown for more information. Then click on their website. I love going to the zoo also. IT is close to downtown.

Thanks so much! I have heard the Spaghetti Factory is pretty yummy! Plus, what toddler doesn%26#39;t like noodles?

how close to downtown did you want to get? There is a great hotel/small indoor waterpark north of downtown up by 96th and Michigan. My parents bring my younger siblings and stay there when they come to visit. Then again, it takes about 30 minutes to get to downtown from it. But its still a fun place to go!
The zoo will also be open then. and the new exhibit where u pet sharks is pretty cool.
As far as location goes, the Hilton Garden Inn is in a great spot! I haven%26#39;t stayed there personally so you%26#39;ll want to read the reviews, but it%26#39;s a hop, skip, and a jump to the circle. Which brings me to one of my favorite places...the Chocolate Cafe. Front part of the store appears just to South Bend Chocolate Company but venture to the back and you%26#39;ll find lots of ice cream, cakes, and coffees. Fun for kids of all ages.
Marriott is also in a great location, but again, you%26#39;ll have to read for yourself on that one too. I checked to make sure and both of them do list indoor pools.
I agree with Old Spaghetti Factory for kids. There%26#39;s a train car inside that my boys love. Similar to Spaghetti Warehouses if you%26#39;ve ever been there.
If the weather is warm, check out the canal. Hope this link works for you. There are others you can search but I though this would give you a feel. www.wheelfunrentals.com/listlocations/44
The Children%26#39;s Museum is fantastic. If you%26#39;ve not been there before, let me know and I can give you some tips because there are some things you won%26#39;t want to miss. My son is also a huge Curious George fan. Imagine the devastation when his precious George was recalled for lead-based paint on the face! The gift shop has several Curious George things so before the exhibit is gone, I%26#39;m sure it will cost me!
Have fun and enjoy your trip to Indy!
