Michigan City: Beachwalk

we have 3 little kids

has anyone stayed at the beachwalk complex?

is Michigan City safe for kids or better to go to

New Buffalo?

Michigan City: Beachwalk

This complex is across the road and down a path to the beach, as I recall, which would require you to plan your beach time carefully since you can%26#39;t just run up to the house for a minute. The properties look darling, at least from what I%26#39;ve seen driving by.

The beaches are lovely in that area. By ';safe';, are you concerned about riptipes and such? Or just general security in the area? I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll be with them in the water if they are little no matter which beach town you select.

FWIW, there are practically no restaurants in the vicinity if you plan to dine out. OTOH, there is the outlet mall!

Michigan City: Beachwalk

thanks for the info

By ';safe'; I mean general security, ie can I take the kids out for ice cream etc or would it be better to go further north?

there are lots of posts on crime etc in Michigan City

Oh, no. The area you are describing is in a very nice section. I%26#39;m sure you wouldfeel very comfortable taking them to the mall. There%26#39;s also a small zoo nearby.

Beachwalk is a wonderful area, and yes it%26#39;s totally safe. Like most places there are bad parts and good parts. There are a ton of places to eat in the area, if you%26#39;re looking for something specifc I have a friend who lives down the street and can point you in the right direction.

Thanks for the replies

we%26#39;ll check it out and see how it goes!

We just returned from a family reunion. We stayed at Beachwalk Resort. It is a very nice community with an on-site pool, tennis court, sand volleyball and its own private lake, Lake Kai. We had a great time!

Lake Michigan is only a short walk away. I think that Beachwalk would be perfect for a family with three young children!

There are some Beachwalk rentals available on VRBO.com That%26#39;s how we found the homes we stayed in!
