Minnesota to Indiana---suggestions please...

I will be driving to North Carolina and was wondering if anyone could suggest either a city and or hotel to stay in the first night of my travel around indianapolis...that will be about my half-way point. Any cities or hotel names would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help

Minnesota to Indiana---suggestions please...

I am thinking that you are taking one of the main interstates through Indiana which all collect around Indianapolis. So of course the suggestion would be to stay around the loop of I-465 area. Many options from a variety of hotels. check out indy.org for more information. If you give some more details it would help to know what price and area. The downtown area is the best option in my opinion and the interstates run right through the city. But if the suburbs are more your thing. That is fine also.

Yes I will be traveling on the interstates...I haven%26#39;t completely tracked my trip yet because I don%26#39;t leave until september...the main thing I was interested in was a safe and clean hotel at a reasonable price...all I will need is a bed and warm water the next morning for a shower...it%26#39;ll just be a stop along my way...I%26#39;ll be in a hurry to get to NC to see my husband at Fort Bragg. Thank you again!

If you take 65 S there are several just south of the 465 loop. Let me know, it%26#39;s within 5 min. of my house I%26#39;ll get you the info.

There are also several on the north side near I-65. The 71st St exit has a few, including a Hampton Inn and a Wingate Inn. Try searching ';northwest Indianapolis'; or ';Park 100'; to find these. Other than that, your best bet probably is the south side.

From Indy to NC it looks like you might have two options. Either 65 south towards Lousiville or 74 towards Cincy. I%26#39;m not sure which wat is the fastest but i would try try to stay somewhere on the south or southeast side of indy. If you go the 65 route there are nice and reasonable places at the Southport, Greenwood or Franklin exits. If you go the 74 route there are some at the beech Grove(on 465) or Shelbyville (on 74) Any of these will get you past any Indy ruch hour traffic sice most are heading the oposite direction
