Help! Three families are traveling down to the U of I for History Day next weekend and would like to stay as close as possible. Can anyone help us? Thank you!

There is a Holiday Inn express on south US31 south of I-465 that seems nice. It is the closest one to the campus and is probably 5 minutes from campus to the south. Downtown Indy is 4 miles to the north and has plenty of options for lodging and dining and shopping. Worth looking into also. There is not much really close by campus. There is another Holiday Inn Express on Keystone Ave. just south of I-65 probably 2-3 miles from campus. There are quite a few motels at the Beech Grove exit off I-465 maybe 10 minutes (at most) from campus. Another word of advice is to definely not speed in that area, U of I police always have somebody pulled over plus the college kids have a tendency to just walk right out in traffic crossing Hanna Ave. from the dorms to the classrooms.

It%26#39;s only 4.5 miles from downtown to the campus. Basically a straight shot driving down Pennslyvania which turns into Madison ave. Check out Mapquest for directions it is very easy to navigate to %26amp; from that area to downtown. Hope this helps.
