Will be coming to Indianapolis area to see Moto Gp race. Looking for recommendations for lodging, restaurants and things to do other than the race stuff.
Also wanted to know if mass transit system brought people to/from the raceway on race days. At Laguna Seca the bus ride was free if you held tickets. Sure beat dealing with the traffic. Thanks to all in advance. Will visit my Dad in La Porte after the race.

Fall trip to see Motogp Inaugural Indy Race
Indygo, our local bus service usually runs from downtown and the airport to the track on racedays, but I don%26#39;t see anything listed on their website for motogp race. You might contact them about it.

Fall trip to see Motogp Inaugural Indy Race
Ghustonus, Indy has a very poor mass transit system, but the city bus, called IndyGo shuttles race fans from downtown out to the track on race day. It costs $15 - 20 and you pay right before getting on the bus, so no need to buy ahead. The bus departs downtown every 15 minutes or so. Google IndyGo and keep an eye on it because they%26#39;ll probably announce it on the web site.
What other ';stuff'; besides racing would you be interested in? Food/drink/museums/nature??
As far as hotels I would get on line and check around. The most fun would be in downtown Indy (also most expensive). The most reasonable rates would be along I 465 which cirlces indy.
try googleing Hotels in Plainfield, IN
Hotels in Southport, IN
Hoels in Lebanon, IN
I saw some rooms available at Day%26#39;s Inn in Plainfield but they have the rates jacked up to $152.00 a night for that weekend
