Downtown activities

I might accompany my husband on a business trip to Indy and I wouldn%26#39;t have a car during the day, so I was going to see what there was to do downtown during the day. He usually stays at the Hilton Garden Inn downtown. Thanks!

Downtown activities

The Hilton Gardens is right in the middle of downtown and on a nice day pretty much everything is in walking distance. There are plenty of nice walks, museums, places to eat, and shopping. What are your interests?

I would be interested in places I could walk for breakfast and lunch. I also enjoy historical places, museums, local interests. Thanks for any suggestions!

You are definitely in the heart of everything, so you should easily find quite a few things to do.

Since you like history, you might enjoy the Civil War Museum right at Monument Circle.

';Walking distance'; means different things to different people. According to the link above, White River State Park is about 1/3 of a mile from the hotel. If that seems like a reasonable walk to you, there is also plenty to do there, including the Eiteljorg Museum, the Indiana State Museum, the canal walk, and the zoo (which is on the far side of the park from you). http://www.in.gov/whiteriver/index.html

You can plan your walk so that the Indiana History Museum and the Capitol Building are on your way there.

Circle Center Mall is also not far away.

For lots of great ideas, go to this site:

It gives the distance from Monument Circle and since your hotel is so close to that, you can get a relatively good idea about how far it would be from you.

I hope this helps!

Have a great trip!
