Staying at Embassy Suites for Chargers-Colts game-restaurant

Hi Indianapolis

Looking for some good and fun places to eat. Friday night restaurant-steak-italian- Saturday will probably watch the games at a sports bar and eat there. Any suggestions on sports bars. I saw Champions sports bar was at the the circle??? Is it possible to find good restaurants via the walkways?

Is Bertolini%26#39;s, Red Eye Cafe any good? Price is not important just good food and fun places. We can take Taxi%26#39;s. Thank You

The Circle is only one block from the Embassy Suites. I%26#39;m not partial to Bertolini%26#39;s, but I know plenty of people who are. It%26#39;s one of the better Italian places downtown, and IS reachable by walkway. A locally owned Italian place downtown that I enjoy is Agio%26#39;s (on Mass Avenue). I haven%26#39;t yet eaten at the Red Eye Cafe.

Ambrosia, in Broad Ripple (about a 20 minute cab ride), is a great - recently reborn - Italian restaurant. And Broad Ripple is a fun place to walk around - plenty of pubs, restaurants and shops - a favorite hang-out of young singles and young married couples in Indy.

Regarding sports bars - the Champps on the Circle is very good. Jillians is only one block east of the Circle Center Mall and is a huge sports bar/entertainment center. Alcatraz Brewing Co (street level in the Circle Center Mall - accessible by walkway) has plenty of T.V.%26#39;s. If you happened to decide to go to Broad Ripple, Average Joe%26#39;s and Chumley%26#39;s are two very good sports bars.

Have fun - the better sports bars tend to fill up early and stay full until the Colts game is over.

I%26#39;m sure others will chime in with other ideas as well.

OMG. I just noticed you%26#39;re from San Diego. Oh well, Chargers fans are welcome here.

We draw the line at Pats fans though. Good luck.

I%26#39;m a fan of both Bertolini%26#39;s and Agio......make reservations though!

If you want steak downtown, the %26#39;institution%26#39; in town that%26#39;s famous is St Elmo%26#39;s Steak House, best steaks in the world and you have to try the shrimp cocktail.....it%26#39;s the sauce! Reservations are a must here as well. It%26#39;s on Illinois St, very close to the Embassy Suites!

Love Champps! For some night life, best place in town is Slippery Noodle, but you would either need a car or a cab!

If you want steak you have to go to St. Elmo%26#39;s (www.stelmos.com). It has been an Indy tradition since 1902 and is one of the top 50 steakhouses in the country. This is located approximately 2 blocks south of your hotel on Illinois St.

I also suggest McCormick %26amp; Schmick%26#39;s Seafood restaurant. It is fantastic seafood and located just 1 block north on Illinois St.

I can also suggest the newly opened Weber Grill which is actually attached to your hotel. Great steaks, burgers, and a very cool bar area.

As far as watching the game on Saturday/Sunday I would recommend downtown either Champions or Champps. Champions is located in the Marriott, and Champps is on the SE corner of Illinois St. and Washington St. literally stumbling distance from your hotel.

You may also want to visit Indy%26#39;s north side at Keystone at the Crossing. This is the fashion mall with Saks 5th Avenue, etc. They have Sullivan%26#39;s Steakhouse which is phenomenal, and also another Champps. Do a little high end shopping and then drink to make you forget how much you spent!

Do we know how to make Chargers fans feel welcome or what?

Was a good game. Congratulations (now beat the heinous Patriots)!

Had a great tine in Indianapolis. Embassy Suites served its purpose. Nice breakfast and happy hour. From the Hotel we did not not have to go outside just used the walkways to mall, other hotels, restaurants and game. Great fans. Bertolini%26#39;s food was excellent, good food, good wine. St Elmos good and very expensive. On to New England and hoping to beat the Patriots. Thanks to all Janet
